Winter warmers

So we have had the first of probably many frosts this morning so its definitely worth getting out my thick winter clothes. I’m thinking I need to add to my winter wardrobe (as a girl never has enough clothes) and have picked out some favourites from what is currently available on the high street. A capsule of essential winter warmer clothes.

So that is the essential winter clothes sorted, my next post will be essential winter items for the home.

Autumn Wish List

As much as I love summer I am thoroughly enjoying the fact that it is now officially Autumn. Time to get the winter clothes out, long sleeved tops, scarves, and boots.

I love the colours of Autumn, so this also requires changing my nail polish shades too. Plum is my go to shade at the moment, such a rich and warm colour.

Here are some picks of my favourite nail polishes in this shade:

Max Factor Intense Plum – £4.99 – Superdrug

Essie Bahama Mama – £7.99 – Boots

Barry M Plum – £3.99

And here is my wish list for this season, some staple items for my wardrobe are needed this year.

I hope you feel inspired by some of my choices, lets embrace this slightly chillier weather and get out there in our Autumnal shades!

May shopping wish list

Every month I create a list of things I would like to buy, this is always influenced by the time of year and any seasonal holidays. I just love anything blue and white, with stripes or that has a nautical theme, here are some of my favourite items from the high street at the moment.

So my wish list for this month is……………..drum roll

1. Flip flops – in anticipation of the summer coming its time to invest in my annual pair of flip flops, I’m loving the designs by Joules and love these floral ones.

2. Nail varnish – because the toenails will be on show soon then I need some more nail varnish, Maybelline do a fantastic range of gel shine polishes and this shade is just what I am looking for Maybelline ‘rose poudre’

3. Summer day bag – now that my daughter is potty trained (yay!) I don’t need to carry a changing bag around with me so am looking for something summery but still a decent size. I love this bag from very

nautical bag

4. My 2 year old daughter obviously doesn’t fit in her summer clothes from last year so of course I will need to invest in some items such as this gorgeous navy dress from Tesco

tesco dress

5. My toaster has almost given up now, I am loving Kitchenaid’s range, they do a fab one in cream.

Well that is my wish list for now, (of course I could add many more things) what is on your current wish list or what do you intend to buy ahead of the summer?

Pretty pastels

Now that spring is finally here its time to put away your winter warmers and get out the pretty pastel shades.

I often feel I should wear more colours but am not always brave enough to wear the bright ‘pops’ of colours you see featured in magazines, so an easy transition into making your wardrobe more than just blacks, greys and browns, why not try some pastels first to ease you in gently to the more colourful items of clothes. Here are some inspirational ideas for mixing and matching some beautiful spring pieces.

Pretty pastels board

1. Top – Boden
2. Watch – Olivia Burton
3. Slim fit jeans – Next
4. Necklace – Next
5. Ballerina pumps – Zara

Coral board

1. Top – Wallis
2. Sunglasses – M&S
3. Jeans – M&S
4. Handbag – Dorothy Perkins
5. Wedges – Dorothy Perkins

I hope you have felt inspired by my ideas, my personal mission for this summer is to always ensure I am wearing something bright and cheerful (even on rainy summer days!!).
